My name is Sam Belton. I am currently a second-year journalism student enrolled in Humber College’s three-year Advanced diploma program. So far, I have been, most importantly, a print and online journalist. I have also worked in radio. I have recently completed an article pertaining to Canada’s transition to electric vehicles for Humber’s SCRIBE magazine, a student-written publication aimed at Humber students.
I have multiple publications for the Humber Et Cetera and Humber News. My topics of focus include social issues: such as affordable housing and environmental issues, political issues: such as covering the 2022 Toronto municipal election and the city of Toronto’s funding shortage in COVID-19 recovery costs in 2023. I am also interested in transit and sports. I aspire to work for a Greater Toronto Area (GTA) newspaper or online news publication upon graduation.
